The bone garden heather kassner6/21/2023 ![]() If you can imagine a middle grade version of Grim Lovelies then you’ve hit The Bone Garden spot on. The other characters who come into the book later on were very fun and I enjoyed seeing friendship blossom. Made of dust and bone and imagination, Irrelle fears shes not quite real. ![]() Miss Vesper was the perfect villain with an interesting backstory that kept me wanting to learn more. Remember, my dear, you do not really and truly exist. ![]() I’m not generally one for middle grade fiction but I really enjoyed The Bone Garden Irèelle’s character was very sweet and misunderstood and it was interesting seeing from her perspective how she felt at the hands of her creator. But Irèelle is always too slow and forgetful, too clumsy on her mismatched limbs and when she makes one mistake too many and Miss Vesper threatens to destroy her, Iréelle has no choice but to run away. ![]() She is slow returning from the dark passages beneath the cemetery. Irréelle is forgetful as she gathers bone dust. But for all her efforts to please her cruel creator, the thread is unravelling. Only the finest magical thread tethers her to lifeand to Miss Vesper. At least she thinks she’s 11, made from dust and bones and imagination, Irèelle’s whole existence relies upon the will of the chilling Miss Vesper, who demands she goes under the graveyard every night to collect bone dust. Made of dust and bone and imagination, Irréelle fears shes not quite real. ![]() Synopsis: Irèelle is not like normal 11 year old girls.
